High School Students in France Choose Greek Play for Year-End Performance

The students of Modern Greek Language at the Thiers High School in France chose Aristophanes play “Acharnis” for their school year ending celebration.

The students, under the guidance of their Greek teacher Ioanna Mousikoudi, amused the visitors as well the teachers with their excellent performance, as website diaspora-grecque.com reports.

The setting was meticulously created as a representation of the Parthenon, the birth-place of democracy, while the subtitles in French were shown on a big screen above the stage during the play so that the non Greek-speaking audience could follow.

The Greek-French website expressed hope that the Greek language lessons continue next year in Theirs High School in Marseilles, a French city widely known for its Hellenic presence.
