ΑSE Enters June With a Slump, Banks Lose 10.8% for the Week

The Athens Stock Exchange entered June with losses, while the General Index returned to levels of 500 points.
All shares of FTSE20 index remained in red territory, while the largest percentage decline was recorded by Alpha Bank and MIG, OTE moved sharply downwards after yesterday’s slump.
NBG shares attempted to diversify, recording intraday gains of 8.91%, but those profits evaporated and managed to close at a new historic low of 0.993 euros.
On the board, the General Index closed at 501.90 points, down 4.48%, while intraday was declining up to 5.27% at 497.74 points.
The banking index, despite rising up to 3.19% at the beginning of trading, ended at day’s low of 171.47 points, down 4.97%.
On Friday, the trading volume reached 49.38 million units worth 59.96 million shares, while 92 shares declined, 24 climbed and 159 remained unchanged.
