Beggars Brutally Kill Homeless Man for Some Coins

There are people in Greece, Greeks and migrants, who have been in a tragic financial state for years before the crisis. But the rising criminality rates indicate that the situation is getting out of control during the last two years, while poverty has destroyed the lives of many more citizens. Three days ago, two beggars killed a homeless man only to steal his coins.
Thessaloniki police solved the homicide of a 65 year-old homeless man of Bulgarian nationality in the Toumba district of Thessaloniki on Thursday. The victim was found by employees of the Municipality of Thessaloniki early Wednesday on a pavement with wounds to the head.
According to the police statement, the perpetrators of the crime are two Bulgarians, a 61-year-old and his 26-year-old nephew. In their possession, police found 200 euros in coins, some of which had been taken from the Bulgarian victim.
The two men appeared to have tied the victim with a rope and afterwards, hit him several times in the head with a brass knuckle, resulting in his cruel death.
Both victim and suspects were beggars and homeless. The two Bulgarians confessed the crime as blood was found on their clothes and shoes proving their deadly assault on their homeless compatriot.
According to authorities, the perpetrators of the crime knew the victim long before the incident. The homeless man had stolen the mobile phone of the suspects, asking 50 euros in exchange to return it to them. The two Bulgarians apparently took vengeance, but the Greek police will also have them punished.
