15-Year-Old Student Wins First Prize in Local Poetry Competition

A fifteen-year-old student in Junior High, Lefteris Fratis from Filiates of Thesprotia, resident of Patras, won first prize in the poetry competition of the Writers Society of Southwestern Greece.
The student warmly thanked the Writers Society for honoring him for his poem, titled “Prey”, by giving him the first prize of the competition.
Lefteris is impressively talented. He writes articles for the local newspapers of Patras, “Allagi” and “Gnomi”, as well as the “Avgi” of the nearby city of Pyrgos. Some of his articles have been published by the great Athenian newspaper “TA NEA”.
He uses the artistic nickname Fileas Filiatis to sign his poems. He has critical thinking and seems to be seeking answers on social issues of modern times. He is particularly interested in education and the local authorities, when it comes to his future.
