The famous Greek-American actress Olympia Dukakis is going to star in the play ‘Social Security’, that will be presented at the Theatrical Organization of Cyprus (THOC).
The play will premiere on the 2nd of March, directed by Athanasia Karagiannopoulou and adapted by the Greek actress Mimi Denissi.
The story is about Barbara and David Reg; the perfect modern couple. They are successful, elegant, social with a gallery in Manhattan and a house museum of Modern Art. Nothing disturbs their perfect life without children and parents.
One day Barbara’s middle-class sister invades their life with her weary husband and the problems of a teenage daughter undergoing her sexual revolution.
All these require the return of the Greek – American mother to Barbara’s home. The mother, a true blunt authoritative Greek woman, makes Barbara’s perfect world a mess and brings the truth to the surface.
