According to Dr. Konstantinos Dokouslis, on Tuesday a medical examination will take place to decide when Abbot Ephraim will be able to be transferred to a hospital in Thessaloniki.
Abbot Ephraim was confined to bed with high fever a few days ago.  He has also been diagnosed with blood sugar deregulation, as it was confirmed by a medical examiner.
The Holy Community of Mount Athos has decided to send a letter of support to the Abbot Ephraim of the Vatopedi Monastery as well as to make an appeal to the attorney general concerning the detention sentence of the abbot.
Finally, a letter will be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to express outrage on behalf of the leadership of Mount Athos concerning the treatment that the Abbot Ephraim received during the last days.
