Greek ‘Scholar of Argonauts of the South’ Passes Away

Greek Community in Melbourne is mourning for the death of the teacher, researcher and author of Greek Origin Makis Kasapidis’Scholar of the Argonauts of the South’.

Makis Kasapidis supported Greek Diaspora and especially Pontic Greeks, who migrated for the second time in Australia.

Makis Kasapidis was born in Kilkis of Greece and his family lived in very poor financial conditions. He migrated to Australia in 1969, when he worked as a teacher in many schools in Australia.

Kasapidis organized many symposiums and seminars on the persecution of Christian People from Minor Asia, while he also wrote the book “Chrisanthos – High Priest – National Leader Of Pontos” that was released in 2004.

During 2004-2007 Kasapidis continued to conduct research for the Pontic Greeks of Antipodes and published a book titled ‘The Argonauts of the Antipodes of South’.
