Alter Channel CEO Costas Yiannikos Set Free

Prosecutor and Attorney General released Alter TV Channel CEO and major shareholder Costas Yiannikos with the legal restraint not to leave the country.
On November 23, Mr. Yiannikos was charged with tax evasion estimated at about 1.2 million euros for the period between March and October 2011.
According to his attorney Mr. Elias Anagnostopoulos, the company has been under Article 99 of the Greek bankruptcy code, and thus any alteration of the property status of its legal representative is prohibited. “This means that all of his properties are committed and every prosecution against him is suspended” said Mr. Anagnostopoulos.
The private channel reportedly owes to the Greek state short term payables worth 380 million Euros and long term payables of 170 million euros.
