2011 Greek Student Film Festival Begins

The Greek Orthodox Community of New South Wales presents the inaugural Greek Student Film Festival in Sydney hosted at Palace Norton Street Cinemas Leichhardt on Sunday 30th October 2011 as part of the 18th Greek Film Festival.

Modern Greek Students from primary through to tertiary level Australian schools  were requested to submit short films in fiction, animation or documentary style with the theme “a journey” which was open to the interpretation and creativity of the students and teachers involved.

The best creative efforts of Modern Greek students and possibly future directors will be screened and three prizes will be awarded in each of the following categories as well as participation certificates to each participant.

The best entries will be Categories

– primary school students (years 5-6)
– secondary school students (years 7-9)
– secondary school students (years 10-12)
– tertiary students

Prizes

– 1st prize, $400
– 2nd prize, $300
– 3rd prize, $200

The Greek Film Festival of Sydney is an event of the Greek Festival of Sydney and an initiative of the Greek Orthodox Community of NSW in collaboration with the Office of Education under the auspices of the Embassy of Greece and sponsored by the Bank of Cyprus Australia.
