Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and their 5-year-old daughter Suri made a quick trip to the Milkshake Factory in Pittsburgh on Sept. 24. The family was in town to visit Tom while he films his latest movie, One Shot.
“They seemed to love the shakes and Tom seemed to have a thing for chocolate” said a fellow customer at the Milkshake Factory.
The Milk Shake Factory in Pittsburgh is one of the few standing true ice cream parlors that started by Greek Immigrants in 1914. The store is currently operated by Greek-American Dana Edwards Manatos and her brother Chris Edwards who is also the owner of Edward Marc Chocolatier.
Nearly a century since the store opened The Milk Shake Factory still conjures memories (and flavors) of a bygone era. Today, the Greek-American siblings continuing their great-grandparents tradition offer 55 flavors of milkshake, each handmade with loving care on an old-fashioned Bastian-Blessing soda fountain.
