Crete Inhabited in 130,000 BC!

The archaeological team of the University of North Carolina in the U.S., analyzing soil and tools, concluded that Homo Erectus traveled to Crete and lived there almost 100,000 years earlier than originally believed, from as early as 130,000 BC.
Scientists believe that Homo Erectus tribes inhabited the island travelling from areas of North and Sub-Saharan Africa. Archaeologists have also found axes and weapons similar to those found in Africa dating from around 800,000 years ago.
”Thanks to radiocarbon dating techniques, we can now say with confidence that the tools and weapons we found date back 50-130,000 years BC” stated geologist Carl Hugman of the University of North Carolina, adding that ”the tools show that the inhabitants of the island, the first ancestors of the Minoans, were excellent craftsmen and capable of large structures. ”
So far, the oldest settlement found in Crete dates back to 7,000 BC.
