An information system for drivers at the junctions of central roads in Thessaloniki will be installed until the end of the year by the Directorate of Construction Works in the Region of Central Macedonia. The system is similar to the one operating until recently in the inner ring road. Along with the restoration of the light signal, it is expected to contribute significantly to improving traffic congestion and regulating traffic. “We will move into new contracts for the entire network of the city, replacing traffic lights which are currently in operation and converting them into “smart lights” to help regulate traffic flow better throughout the day,” emphasizes Head of the Directorate Elias Tsairidis.
