A 45-year-old woman in Toumpa, Thessaloniki, noticed a strange man lying on her living room sofa. The Greek man, who had broken into her apartment, had apparently fallen into a deep sleep after having too much to drink.
The strange incident took place at 1.30 in the morning when the burglar, after breaking into the entry door of the woman’s apartment, went into the living room, where he collapsed onto the sofa in a drunken stupor.
The woman, who was awakened by the break in, was terrified, and assuming that the burglar had entered her apartment in order to rob it, stayed in her bed waiting for him to take her money and valuable items and leave. After hearing no movement in the apartment, she ventured out only to find the 36-year-old burglar still in her home and sleeping soundly.
The man was arrested after the woman called police.
