Marianna Liberta Wins Bronze Medal in Open Water Swimming Championships, Shanghai

Greek swimmer Mariana Liberta has won the first medal in the history of the World Open Water Swimming Championships for women. The Olympiacos swimmer won a bronze medal in the 10km.race, finishing with 2:02.01, in the 14th world championship, that took place on the beach of Shanghai. Liberta now qualifies  for the London Olympics in 2012. Penny Kerry of Britain, who finished at 2:01.58, won the gold medal and Italian Martina Grimaldi who finished at 2:01.59, won the silver medal.
