Initiatives for Greek-Israeli Cooperation in Tourism

Pavlos Geroulanos, the Minister of Culture and Tourism accompanied the president of the Hellenic Republic, Karolos Papoulias, during his official visit in Israel and took initiatives concerning the Greek Israeli cooperation in tourism.
During a business forum in Tel Aviv, he held a series of important contacts and talked to Israeli businessmen noting that our countries have come closer and that his Israeli counterpart and himself have a common vision for a close cooperation of the two countries and for common investments, not only between Greece and Israel.  They also plan to work on common travel packages and investments to attract visitors from the developing markets of China, Russia, USA, India and Japan. He underlined that the rate of tourists coming from Israel, Turkey and Russia to Greece is impressively high and the investment environment is very attractive.
The minister said that Greece is a very appealing destination and that we should create a sense of confidence to investors.
The Greek and Israeli ministers of Tourism Mr. Geroulanos and Mr. Stas Misezhnikov signed a protocol of cooperation in April, within the scope of the third common Greek-Israeli committee for tourism cooperation.
