Arcadian Village Cultural Events Scheduled July 6th-August 30th

On Wednesday, July 6th the program of cultural events in Arcadian Village begins, which is expected to be full of expatriates this year. The events will run until August 30th.
The Arcadian village is located on the coast of Kynouria. Built amphitheatrically, it overlooks the bay of Argolis, and is 55 km. from Tripoli center.
This unique settlement made for Hellenes living abroad has as primary objectives the reconnection of expatriates Arcadians around the world with the place of their origin, the strengthening of Greek cultural identity and the promotion of  a sense of Hellenism to the Diaspora’s young people, who grew up outside Greece as well as the teaching of the Greek language and culture.
This summer, lots of events will be held in the Arcadian Village. Some of them will be held on Friday, July 8th when people will have the opportunity to enjoy a tribute to modern Greek history, from the revolution of 1821 to the consolidation of democracy in 1974.
On Saturday July 9th, there will be a tribute to Greek immigration and on Sunday July 10th, a tribute to Arcadian poet Nikos Gatsos.
On Friday July 29th, people will enjoy a tasting and cooking evening and on Friday, August 26th there will be an exhibition of paintings. On Saturday the 27th, people will enjoy a dancing night with ‘Rebetika’ songs (Greek traditional songs). The festivities end on August 30th with a movie night.
