Special Olympics: Greece Wins Gold Medals in Badminton & Golf

A number of successes were recorded for Greece, on Saturday July 2nd, in the Special Olympic Summer Games. 11-year-old Anna Antonopoulou won the gold medal in the singles in badminton, while Maria Petrides, Zacharias Peiniris, Spyros Meintanis, and Hernanndez Garcia Rene climbed onto the first step of the podium in golf.
Anna Antonopoulou except for the gold medal in the singles, was qualified with 18- year-old John Stefanatos in the double finals in badminton, beating 2-1 the English Bryony Johnson and Darren Roberts.
Moreover: ► Rosemary Kansizoglou, Maria Bassa and Konstantina Stafylidou won silver medals.
► In golf, Greece won four gold and one bronze medal. Specifically, Maria Petrides (category F1), Zacharias Peiniris (category M2), Spyros Meintanis (category M3), Hernandez Garcia Rene (category M1) came first, Adam Gratsonis took the bronze medal in M1 category, while Georgia Pollatou ranked 4th in F3 category.
► In handball, national teams Hellas 1 and Hellas 2 won the silver and bronze medal respectively.
► In horse-riding, Paschalia Koukouli won the bronze medal in the category Workings Traials ΒΙ_4.
► In canoe-kayak, Michael Roussos won the silver medal in the KT 500M Race Singles, while Anthony Exarhopoulos finished third, in the same category.
