The award-winning Greek film “Attenberg”, which has received international praise from the critics, will be screened at this year’s Sydney Film Festival. The movie’s director is Athina Rachel Tsangaris, who visited Australia for the festival.
She spoke at the SBS radio about the film: ”I can say that the film did quite well in Greece, taking account of the crisis afflicting the world. The movie was widely discussed and there is still being a debate over it. Some liked it, others not. As it was my first movie in Greece, I wanted to talk about something that for me and other girls of my generation is essential. The relationship between a daughter and her father is fundamental, not just in Greek society”.
