Industrial Union Favours Party Consensus to Exit Economic Crisis

Even the President of the Union of Greek Industrialists (SEB), Dimitris Daskalopoulos, is in favor of party consensus in order to enable Greece to emerge from the economic crisis. ”If we don’t manage to do this, we are going to starve.”
“That is the truth that the two major parties did not tell the Greek people”, he stated during an interview. He went on to say, ”Starting a year ago, the necessary structural reforms with which to run the country have essentially been altered, morally and politically undermined in our citizens’ conscience.
It is now time to face reality. We must all shoulder our responsibility if we want to avoid being responsible for the country’s bankruptcy and destruction”.
In response to journalists’ questions regarding state employment cuts, as requested by the Troika experts, Mr. Daskalopoulos claimed he is in favor of civil servant job cuts.  He claimed: “The private sector is not in as much trouble as the public sector, and has already paid for the crisis with the closure of thousands of companies and 200,000 unemployed workers.
The private sector can no longer bear the burden of useless bodies and client services.”
