Bank of Beirut Acquires Laiki Bank Australia

Laiki Bank Australia is now under the control of Lebanon’s largest bank “Bank of Beirut”, and changed its name.
On Wednesday, April 27th it will be called “Beirut Hellenic Bank”.
As announced, the purchase agreement of the majority stake in Laiki Bank Australia Ltd., to the Bank of Beirut, was over 104 million Euros.
Marfin Laiki will remain as a minority shareholder in Laiki Bank Australia Ltd., at least until February 2013. After, the MPB will have the right to sell the remaining stake in Bank of Beirut.
The Laiki Bank Australia Ltd. was established in 2001 and since then has operated in Australia, offering banking products and services.
