Life imprisonment and an additional 12 year imprisonment imposed by the Mixed Jury Court of Thessaloniki on a 20 year-old national of Albania, who was found guilty of murdering a 19-year-old expatriate last May, motivated by robbery.
The incident occurred near the ‘Hippocratic’ Hospital where the 20-year-old with two fellows of 21-years-old and 18-years-old, attacked the victim with kicks and punches and grabbed a watch, two mobile phones and the amount of 20€ before they ran away.
However, according to the documents, the 20-year-old returned to the point where the victim was and continued to beat him. One of the last hits that the young Greek received in his face, according to the forensic surgeon, was what caused his death.
At the dock, also sat the 21-year-old, who was only found guilty on the act of robbery. The court sentenced him to prison for 12 years and 6 months.
