Battle of Crete’s 70th Anniversary Brings Australian Veterans to Crete

Approximately ten Australian veteran soldiers who fought in Greece during World War II will be attending the commemorative events for the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Crete, accompanied by staff (doctors, nurses etc.).
The Head of the Australian delegation will be the Federal State Minister for Veteran Affairs, Mr. Warren Snowton.  The delegation will also be comprised by ten ministers and MPs.  Most delegates have Greek origin.
For the commemorative events of this major anniversary, approximately 50 Greeks from Australia will also be visiting Greece, to attend the events from May 15th until the 25th in Heraklion, Rethymnon and Chania.
It is worth mentioning that due to events in Crete, the commemorative events in Melbourne will be held on the 5th, 6th and 7th of May, in honor of the historical anniversary.
