Greece go top after Torosidis earns late win in Malta (video)

Vasilis Torosidis struck a last-gasp winner as Greece beat Malta 1-0 away to move top of Euro 2012 qualifying Group F by a point on Saturday.
It appeared Greece was set for a goalless draw after being continually frustrated by Malta’s massed defence, and when Sokratis Papastathopoulos was sent off for scything Malta captain Michael Mifsud with six minutes remaining it appeared as though Greece’s ill-discipline would cost it dear.
Greece was top of Group F with 11 points, Croatia was a point behind and Georgia was on nine.
In the 54th Greece twice came close with headers.
The teams meet again in their next qualifying match in Athens on June 4 with Greece first facing Euro 2012 co-hosts Poland in an international friendly on Tuesday.
