The house of the Greek hero from Chios, Konstantinos Kanaris, is now a protected work of art as the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, George Nikitiadis stated, with a document communicated to the Greek Parliament. The Deputy Minister informed that whatever has to do with the state of the building, the responsibility is on its owners. The document for the house of Konstantinos Kanaris, was communicated to the Greek Parliament, as an answer to the questions of the LAOS MP, Baitsis Apostolatos, who impeached that “the house of the great Admiral, in Eretria, is now deserted while it could be a real historical tourist attraction.” The building is situated near the port of the city and now visitors of Eretria can observe where the great hero of the 1821 Revolution had lived until 1877.
