Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism George Nikitiades consecutively met this morning with the prime agents who promote tourism packages for Greece in the Russian market, on the occasion of the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT). All agents said that they noted an increase in reservations for Greece. Mr. Nikiatiades inaugurated yesterday the Greek stall of MITT, saying that he approves of Greece’s efforts to make the visa process easier for Russians. He announced that by next summer there will be an unofficial meeting of EU Tourism Ministers in Rhodes. The Deputy Minister also met with an astronaut of Greek descent Fyodor Yurchikhin, who could help Greece become more popular with Russian tourists.
