Students from St. Demetrios School in Astoria, N.Y., filled more than 50 big cartons with clothing, toys and other items. They sent them to poor and orphaned children who are hosted in the charity “The Ark of the World”, in Athens. This initiative belongs to Mrs. Peggy Simakos, a Greek teacher, who organized this action after contacting Mr. Athanasios Koularmanis, director of the school. “All our students helped and most of the items we collected are new, except of few which are used, but in an excellent condition”, she mentioned.
