Hellenic Relief Fund Supports Queensland Flood Victims

The Hellenic Relief Fund, currently operating under the auspices of the World Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE) Oceania and Far East Region, gathered over 100.000 AUD in funds for the support of flood victims in Queensland.  Many victims include Greek families.
The funds were collected at an event organized by the Hellenic Emergency Relief Fund at the Cypriot Community hall in Sydney.
The event was attended by the Minister of Justice of NSW, Mr. Ioannis Chatzistergios, High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Ioannis Iakovou, businessmen, representatives of Greek Diaspora organizations and many Greeks.
The attendants were thanked and welcomed for their significant presence by the President of the Hellenic Emergency Relief Fund, Mr. Michalis Christodoulou.  SAE Oceania and Far East region coordinator, Mr. George Angelopoulos referred to the history and establishment of the Hellenic Emergency Relief Fund and its activities until now.
