Turkish – Greek Friendship Week Begins in Kirklareli, Turkey

The Greek consulate in the northwestern province of Edirne stated on Wednesday, that Turkey and Greece should support cultural activities in order to bring their nations closer together.
Turkish-Greek Friendship Week began with a ceremony in the northwestern Turkish province of Kirklareli.
Speaking in the ceremony, Greek Consul Paraskevi Tzeveleki (photo) said she was doing everything she could to support such activities and bring the two countries closer.
Tzeveleki said he had assumed a locomotive role in cultural, artistic, educational and economic activities to normalize Turkish-Greek relations.
The consul said the two countries have had some tension in the past, however she wanted to believe that such incidents would not re-occur.
Tzeveleki said the two nations should know their histories, however they should also think about their children, to cooperate for the future of region.
The Greek consul said she believes the Turkish-Greek relationship will be in peace, and the door was open for those who wanted to go to Greece from Kirklareli.  The consul is prepared to help regional people who wanted to get a visa.
Turkish-Greek Friendship Week will end on Saturday.
