Greece will Licence Online Betting by 2011's End

Greece plans to award up to fifty internet gambling licences and allow thousands of low-stake videolotto (VLT) gaming machines by the end of the year, a senior government official told Reuters on Monday.
“The bill is expected to be voted within the first quarter of the year,” said the official, on condition of anonymity. “Our aim is to tender the licences by the end of the year.”
The government aims for revenues of up to EUR700mn from licences in 2011 and EUR625mn in 2012, while the official didn’t refer to the length of the licence.
Regarding to the videolottos, he added that there will be a limit in the amount of bets, according to the news agency.
