George Venizelos is the New Head of the FBI in Philly

The Greek origin special agent will be replacing Janice K. Fedarcyk as the Director of the FBI Office in Philadelphia.

He has previously served for the FBI New York Division and he first joined the service in 1991 working on white-collar crime matters. Six years later he was promoted to supervisory special agent in the Criminal Investigative Division’s Russian Organized Crime Unit at FBI Headquarters and in 2005 he became inspector at FBI Headquarters, where he led inspection teams to FBI field offices and overseas legal attaché offices. His last position in FBI New York was head of the Administrative Division.

Venizelos, 50 today, was raised in Edgewater, New Jersey and he holds a Science Degree in Accounting from Fordham University. He has also been a special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration, in the past.
