The archaeological exhibition “Eretria: A Look at an Ancient City” has been transferred from Athens to the Basel archaeological museum in Switzerland. It will be inaugurated by Greece’s Deputy Tourism and Culture Minister George Nikitiadis on September 21st.
The exhibition was previously on display at the Athens Archaeological Museum and is organised by the Swiss School of Archaeology in collaboration with the Evia (Euboea) Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities Ephorate.
The exhibition follows the history of the city of Eretria from early until late antiquity. It offers findings made in archaeological digs of the Greek Archaeological Service, the Swiss School of Archaeology, the British School of Archaeology and the Archaeological Society.
The exhibition will run from Sept. 22nd until Jan. 31st, 2011.
