Greek Austalian Festival “Elliniko Glenti” Affected by Crisis

The crisis that has affected Greek associations of Australia has now hit the top Greek event in Adelaide. The festival coined “Elliniko Glenti” will not be take place this year for the first time in 30 years; an event that gathers thousands of people. According to organizers, the festival will not take place this October because of a decrease in sponsorship.

“I promise that the preparations for a perfect Festival in 2011 will start very soon. I hope that our decision will not affect the funding by the government”, said the president of the board of directors Yannis Sefelakis.

The festival is a very important event. There are many volunteers. George Vlahos, member of The Organization Committee called all the people that served the realization of the festival in the past to help the festival in the future as well.
