The Education Ministry announced today its decision to close the educational organization, “Hellenic American Union”. The HAU is the second private franchise college that has failed to comply with requirements set down by law for its operation.
Education Minister Anna Diamantopoulou stressed that The HAU had been given ample time to comply with the standards required by law since receiving its first warning from The Ministry back in March.
Concerning students already studying at HAU, the Minister only noted that: “…everyone when they make their choices, must be careful”.
The Minister made the statement during the tabling of a bill on life long education before The Parliament’s Educational Affairs Committee.
