Nine Greek candidates for the Australian elections

Nine Greek Australians will be candidates in the National Elections of Australia. Three of them are already members of the National Parliament and six of them are candidates for the first time.

The three old members of the parliament are Maria Vamvakinou of the Labor party, Steve Georganas of the Labor Party and Sophie Mirabela of the Liberal Party.

The other six candidates are:

-Eleni Konsta, candidate of the Labor Party for the seatof Dunkley, in Victoria.

-Georgios Souris, candidate of the Liberal Party for the seat of Batman in Victoria.

-Kimberly Dimozantou, candidate of the Greens in Bendigo.

-Meni Poularas, candidate of the Christian Democrat Party for the seat of McMahon in New South Wales.

-Abraham Seviloglou, independent candidate for the seat of Deakin in Victoria.

-Benjamin Walsh, candidate of the Liberal Democratic Party for the seat of Deakin.

We should underline that Benjamin Walsh is of Greek origin and the youngest candidate in these elections. He is just 18 years old.

Vamvakinou, Georganas and Mirabela will probably be reelected. The most difficult situation is this of Steve Georganas, although he won in the elections of 2008.

The voting is obligatory for all the Australians over the age of 18. For the Parliament we write two numbers in the small squares. For the Senate we vote with two ways. Over and under the line of the voting paper.
