The Mayor of Moreland, Mrs. Stella Kariofillidou, accompanied by the ex President of the Thessalonians of Melbourne, Mr. Pavlos Mavroudis, visited the Prefect of Thessaloniki, Mr. Panagiotis Psomiadis. During theIR visit, they discussed many issues of the local government, of the Greeks abroad and their relations with Greece and of course the collaboration between them.
The Prefect talked about his visit to Australia in November 2008 and thanked them for the hospitality. He also discussed with the mayor of Moreland about the local elections.
The mayor of Moreland thanked the prefect of Thessaloniki for his initiative to place a marble stele with Alexander the Great and St. Demetrios in the Greek road Lonsdale Street of Melbourne, gift of the Prefecture of Thessaloniki.
The Prefect gifted to the Mayor a silver model of the White Tower and the album “Memories of old Thessaloniki”.
Mrs. Kariofillidou gifted to Mr. Psomiadis souvenirs from the Municipality of Moreland, trade mark of Melbourne
