The police were left speechless after a volunteer fireguard’s confession concerning the recent fires on Corfu island. The 38 years old man was arrested and proved guilty for 9 arsons. Numerous residents had seen the volunteer fireguard at the scene of the crimes but they believed that he was trying to extinguish the fire. As the fireguard stated to police, he admitted to the arsons in order to show his work and courage.
