Google made another unbelievable cartographic mistake when they renamed Samos island to Macgyver yesterday. Now any google user using the Google maps service in search of Samos will not find it. Despite the fact that many users have sent emails alerting the mistake, Google did not inform any users if their correction has been made. As of now, Samos remains enlisted as Macgyver!
However, this is not the first time that Google made a similar mistake. A few months ago the city of Xanthi, Thrace appeared in the map with the Turkish name Eskige, and it took them many days to fix it. A few days ago the Skopje flag appeared in a Google map next to the White Tower of Thessaloniki. The Greek google partners are aware of the problem, but they are unable to do anything as the central office in the USA controls all changes.
