The Greek ambassador’s initiative for the Greek economy

The Greek ambassador in the USA, Vassilis Kaskarelis, took an important initiative in order to reverse the negative climate for Greece that exists in America.

The ambassador Mr. Kaskarelis organized a round table discussion under the presidency of the deputy Mrs. Ileana Ros- Lehtinen from Florida. 15 deputies participated in the discussion.  Elton Callegly from Califronia, Gregory Meeks from New York, Eliot Engel from New York, Ed Royce from California and Michel MacMahon from New York were among the participants.

The discussion took place in July when many American deputies were in vacations, far away from Washington. This is why the great participation of deputies is considered as an important success.

Many Greek deputies, such as Gus Bilirakis from Florida, John Sarbanes from Maryland, Zack Space from Ohio and Niki Tsongas, were also present in the discussion.

Mr. Kaskarelis achieved to have an assertion by the philhellene deputies and the Greek ones.  They promised that they will attend the discussions in the Congress about the Greek economy and they will interfere in order to present the true image of the economic situation in Greece.
