Since last Wednesday,just in the beginning of July, hail and rain fall in Ioannina! These extreme weather conditions caused great damages in tillages. The hail covered the land and looked like … snow! Furthermore the heavy hail caused many accidents in Egnatia Odos as many surprised drivers slided off the road. Severe thunderstorms tear through the whole prefecture of Ioannina. The build of hail however,lowered the high temperatures and created what is known as hail fog this morning. In the middle of the summer, Ioannina experiences a strong thunderstorm that caused numerous problems not only in tillages but in communications and in the supply of electric power as well!
