The GNTO (Greek National Tourism Organisation) offices, as well as press offices of Greek embassies, have taken up the leading role in inverting the climate on Greek tourism in markets abroad.
This was decided, among other things, by the newly established crises management committee which had a meeting today under the President of the GNTO, Nikolaos Kanelopoulos, involving stakeholders and tourism bodies.
The aforementioned agencies will provide detailed information to potential visitors of Greece, regarding the prices of tourism services and also issues of tourist safety, etc. Within this framework it was decided to create a CD-rom with footage from Greece and a message of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Culture and Tourism and also the Deputy Minister, which will be distributed at GNTO offices abroad.
At the same time, the satellite broadcast of ERT for Greeks Worldwide take further action, the GNTO portal will be made active and provide information for tourists on issues of pricing, safety and new policy in general, social media websites (such as facebook, twitter etc.) will also be used towards the benefit of Greek tourism, etc.
