Governor General of Australia, Ms Quentin Bryce met with His all holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Phanar on Tuesday. Ms Bryce, along with her husband Michael, had an extended discussion with Ecumenical Patriarch on issues related to the Patriarchate. Ms Bryce reminded her bonds with the Greek Community in Brisbane, the town she originates from. Governor General referred to multiculturalism as one of Australia’s positive attribute which is being fostered through the dialogue among cultures and religions. Ms Bryce invited the Ecumenical Patriarch to Australia noting the great importance of His presence in this country. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew visited Australia in 1996, and he has also visited it twice before his appointment at the Throne, in order to participate in international ecclesiastical conventions.
