The literary friendship of the English writer, E.M. Forster and Greek poet Constantine Cavafy – as described in the book, “Forster – Cavafy Letters, Friends at a Slight Angle”, was presented at the Greek Consulate in Boston during a lecture by the Greek-origin professor at Suffolk University and author of the book, Dr. Peter Jeffries.
Dr. Jeffries, who is considered an expert on the work and life of Cavafy, referred in particular to the poet’s friendship with Forster, citing excerpts from their correspondence with each other, as well as the influence exerted by Cavafy on English literature.The book, which was published last year by the American University in Cairo, will be issued in the Greek language next year.
