Greek striker Tasos Douvikas has extended his Como contract through 2031, the Italian club announced Monday, October 26, rewarding a scoring run that has carried into both Serie A and the Champions League.
The agreement extends a deal that had been due to expire in 2029, according to Football Italia. Douvikas has scored eight times in 11 club appearances this season: five goals in eight Serie A games and three in his first three Champions League matches.
Como’s announcement of the extension credits the Greece international with 27 goals and five assists in 68 appearances since his arrival during the winter of the 2024–25 season. He scored 14 league goals last season, finishing second in the Serie A scoring standings.
Tasos Douvikas builds on Como’s European start
The club highlighted his goals in each of the first three matchdays of its debut Champions League campaign. The new contract follows another decisive domestic performance: Douvikas scored both goals in Como’s 2–0 win over Sassuolo on Saturday.
Football Italia’s match report described a game changed by coach Cesc Fabregas’s three halftime substitutions. Douvikas scored in the 49th and 60th minutes, with Kaiki supplying both goals from the left. The victory followed Como’s 4–1 Champions League win over Manchester United earlier in the week.
In the club statement, Douvikas said he had felt at home from the start and had been drawn to Como’s ambition. He credited Fabregas and his staff with helping him develop and described the squad as a close group.
Fabregas praised the forward’s mentality, work ethic and positive approach, linking those qualities to his performances. The club’s decision gives continuity to the partnership as Como competes in Europe alongside its domestic schedule.
A career built across four leagues
Douvikas arrived in Como from Celta Vigo in February 2025. Before moving to Italy, he had played in Greece, the Netherlands and Spain, building his career through successive moves abroad.
An earlier profile of Douvikas traced his development through Greek football and his move from Volos to Utrecht in 2021. He shared the Eredivisie scoring title with 19 goals in the 2022–23 season before joining Celta that summer.
