Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways have suspended or cancelled flights to Saudi Arabia following attacks by Yemen’s Houthi movement. The disruptions affect Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah, with restrictions varying by airline and destination.
Which Flights Are Affected?
Etihad has suspended all flights between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh until October 19. It has also cancelled selected flights to Dammam through October 14 and to Jeddah through October 15, according to its latest service update.
Qatar Airways has temporarily suspended flights to and from Riyadh and Dammam. The airline advises passengers to check their flight status through its official website or app.
The suspensions may affect passengers travelling for business or connecting to onward international flights through the Gulf. Travellers with bookings to Saudi Arabia should monitor airline announcements closely, as changes to flight schedules and airport operations could lead to further disruptions in the coming days.
Riyadh Airport Remains Closed
Saudi authorities have extended the closure of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh until October 17 following attacks claimed by the Houthis. The disruption has prompted several international airlines to cancel or reschedule services.
Passengers should confirm their bookings directly with their airline before traveling to the airport.
