Giannis Antetokounmpo has given fans a behind-the-scenes look at the beginning of his new chapter with the Miami Heat, documenting his journey to South Florida and his first experiences with the organization.

In a video lasting approximately 20 minutes, the Greek basketball superstar shares moments from his trip to Miami, his introduction to the team, and his initial impressions of the city that will now serve as his NBA home.

His transition follows 13 NBA seasons and nearly 14 years with the Milwaukee Bucks, bringing one of the most significant eras in the franchise’s history to an end.

Antetokounmpo meets Miami Heat leaders

Accompanied by his representative, Giorgos Panou, Antetokounmpo traveled to Florida before touring the Heat’s facilities and becoming acquainted with his new professional environment.

As part of the visit, he met head coach Erik Spoelstra and team president Pat Riley, two figures who have shaped the identity and success of the Miami franchise for decades.

The footage shows the Greek star exploring the team’s facilities, meeting members of the organization, and getting his first close look at the setting where he will train and prepare for the coming season.

He has also begun working out with the Heat, marking the first practical step in his adjustment from Milwaukee franchise icon to Miami’s newest superstar.

Meanwhile, the change brings him to an organization known for its demanding standards, emphasis on physical conditioning, and fiercely competitive culture. His intensity and work ethic appear naturally suited to that environment.

Miami Welcomes the “Greek Freak”

Beyond the team facilities, the footage captures the excitement surrounding Antetokounmpo throughout Miami.

Welcome messages dedicated to the “Greek Freak” can be seen across the city, while several Heat supporters appear on camera to express their enthusiasm over the addition of the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player.

The Greek star is also shown following the public reaction on social media. During the journey, he reads some of the thousands of messages posted by fans and watches clips discussing one of the NBA offseason’s biggest transfers.

At several points, his expressions provide some of the most candid moments, revealing amusement and occasional surprise as he takes in the scale of the response.

Against that backdrop, the enthusiastic reception highlights the expectations surrounding his next career phase. After spending his entire NBA career in Milwaukee, Antetokounmpo is entering a new market as the central figure in the Heat’s next era.

A symbolic visit to the Kaseya Center

One of the standout moments takes place outside the Kaseya Center, where Antetokounmpo stops in front of the statue honoring Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade.

Wade led the franchise to three NBA championships and remains the defining player in Heat history. In turn, the visit creates a symbolic connection between Miami’s celebrated past and the new chapter now beginning with the Greek star.
