White House official Alexandra Veletsis, one of the most senior Greek-Americans serving in President Donald Trump’s administration, married investment banker Matthew Guarino in an elegant wedding ceremony on the island of Mykonos, blending Washington influence with traditional Aegean charm.

The wedding took place at the small church of Agios Charalambos beneath Mykonos’ iconic Alefkandra windmills, one of the island’s most recognizable landmarks and a favorite location for high-profile ceremonies.

According to Mykonoslive.tv, approximately two hundred guests attended the ceremony, while security around the venue remained tight throughout the day.

A prominent Greek-American in the White House

Veletsis currently serves as Director of the White House Visitors Office, one of the administration’s most visible operational positions in the Executive Mansion.

In that role, she oversees the planning and execution of public tours of the White House, large-scale public events, official receptions, holiday celebrations, and major visitor initiatives involving thousands of guests each year.

The office also coordinates many of the ceremonial and public-facing aspects of White House operations, placing Veletsis at the center of some of the administration’s highest-profile events.

Her appointment marked a return to the White House after serving during Trump’s first administration as Director of Operations in the Office of Public Liaison, where she managed outreach efforts between the White House and community organizations, advocacy groups, local officials, and civic leaders across the United States.

Her growing responsibilities across both Trump administrations have established her as one of the most influential Greek-Americans currently serving in Washington and among the most senior members of the Greek diaspora working in the White House.

President Trump publicly recognized Veletsis during this year’s White House celebration marking Greek Independence Day, highlighting the prominent role Greek-Americans continue to play in American public life.

The ceremony was marked by an unmistakable Cycladic character. The chapel overlooking Little Venice and the famous Mykonos windmills was reportedly adorned with bright bougainvillea, while guests gathered under the summer sun overlooking the Aegean Sea.

Mykonoslive-tv said refreshments were served to guests following the ceremony, while celebrations had begun the previous evening with a private pre-wedding gathering at Interni, one of Mykonos’ best-known restaurants and nightlife venues.

Veletsis arrived at the church accompanied by musicians and wore a white strapless gown with a long veil, while Guarino opted for a white tuxedo jacket paired with black trousers and a bow tie.
