Panathēnea returns in May 2026, continuing the reimagining of one of the most iconic festivals of Ancient Athens. What began as a student-led initiative has quickly evolved into a growing international gathering that brings together founders, investors, artists, and creative thinkers shaping the future of technology and culture.
Building on the momentum of its inaugural edition, the festival aims to further position Athens as a meeting point for the European startup and arts ecosystem. Panathēnea connects the three core worlds of technology, startups, and the arts, creating a space where ideas, talent, and capital come together in unexpected ways, a hub for all those changing the world across the tribes of tech, business, and arts.
Lineup of influential leaders
This year’s tech lineup will include leading voices from some of the world’s most influential venture capital firms and technology companies. Confirmed speakers include Neil Rimer from Index Ventures, George Robson from Sequoia, and Ben Blume from Atomico, alongside partners from Balderton Capital, Accel, and Visionaries Club.
They will be joined by unicorn founders from Eleven Labs, Deel, Fuse Energy, and Runway, as well as industry leaders from NVIDIA, OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google. The program will also feature members of the team behind the EU-INC initiative, contributing to the conversation around Europe’s future innovation infrastructure.
Panathēnea 2026: 70 side events
Throughout the festival, Athens will host over seventy side events organized by venture capital firms, technology companies, and members of the international startup community. These gatherings will range from sector-focused sessions exploring more than forty industries, such as defense, fintech, deep-tech, and crypto, to experiential events designed to bring people together in a uniquely Athenian setting, including poker nights, night runs, and drinks at some of the city’s most iconic terraces.
The 2026 edition will feature an expanded program across Athens, including keynote talks, curated networking experiences, startup showcases, and large-scale artistic installations. Emerging founders will have the opportunity to present their ideas and connect with investors and ecosystem leaders.
Panathēnea Arts
A key development for the 2026 edition is the expansion of Panathēnea Arts. This dedicated cultural program brings together filmmakers, musicians, and contemporary artists, highlighting the role of creativity in shaping the future of innovation. The program will feature internationally acclaimed creators, including Academy Award–winning filmmaker Barry Jenkins, alongside other leading voices from the global arts and creative industries.
Panathēnea is a not-for-profit, student-led initiative based in Athens and organized by a team of students and new graduates supported by an advisory network of founders, investors, and industry leaders.
