The French Navy has released video footage from a raid carried out on December 14 on a vessel allegedly owned by the “Greek Escobar” that was transporting tons of cocaine.
The target was the fishing vessel Ourania A, whose owner is believed to be the so-called “Greek Escobar,” a figure who has previously served a lengthy prison sentence for drug trafficking. According to the French Navy, special forces boarded the vessel while it was underway in the Atlantic and conducted a search of all areas. During the operation, they discovered 138 packages of cocaine with a total weight exceeding 4.2 tons.

The cargo, the statement said, had been loaded in the Caribbean region, specifically near Fort-de-France in Martinique. Following the seizure, the vessel, its crew, and the illicit cargo were handed over to the local judicial authorities.
Last week, four people were remanded in custody in connection with the case after testifying before an investigating magistrate. The alleged “Greek Escobar” denies the charges, claiming the vessel was not his and that he sold it in August.
