Veteran rock star Sir Rod Stewart dramatically interrupted his first-ever concert in Greece last night mid-performance to publicly reprimand and request the removal of a male spectator he accused of “spoiling the show for everybody.”

The incident occurred at the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (OAKA) stadium while the 80-year-old singer was performing his hit, “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy.” Footage shared across social media shows Stewart abruptly stopping the music to directly address the fan.

“Out the f***ing way,” Stewart declared from the stage. “You’re spoiling the show for everybody. Out the way. Leave. We don’t need you here.” According to witnesses, the spectator appeared to be arguing with another concert-goer who was holding up a sign. Stewart defended the second fan, continuing, “All she’s doing is putting up a sign. It’s not hurting you is it, mate?”

The heated exchange quickly went viral, with many fans speculating and joking online that the singer’s frustration may have been tied to his beloved football club, Celtic FC, suffering a loss earlier in the day.

Despite the unexpected outburst, Stewart’s tour is set to continue. His next scheduled performance is in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, followed by a US tour leg beginning in February.

Planned tour conclusion

The 80-year-old artist previously announced that he intends to scale back his demanding schedule. Last year, he revealed that his current itinerary would mark “the end of large-scale world tours” while assuring fans he has “no desire to retire.”

“I love what I do and I do what I love,” Stewart said at the time. “I’m fit, have a full head of hair and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79.”

Athens has a very active scene, and many others have performed in 2025, ranging from classic rock to modern metal and alternative. Among those who performed in Athens this year were Robbie Williams, Graveyard, and Coven.
