The new US Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, arrived in Athens on Saturday at noon, traveling to Greece on a private flight.
“Hello, Greece,” wrote Guilfoyle in Greek, marking her arrival in the country. In a post on X, she expressed her honor to be in Athens, noting that Greece and the United States share an unbreakable bond.
“Together, we will strengthen our alliance and elevate it to new heights,” Guilfoyle wrote.
Shortly after her arrival, the new US ambassador made her first public appearance in Athens, attending a reception at the Grand Hyatt hotel.
The event was organized on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the US Marine Corps, with the participation of embassy officials and prominent figures from public life.
On Sunday evening, she is expected to attend a nightclub party hosted by Greek pop idol Konstantinos Argyros.
Guilfoyle’s first official engagements in Athens
Kimberly Guilfoyle’s first official engagement as US ambassador is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, when she will present her credentials to President of the Hellenic Republic Konstantinos Tasoulas at the Presidential Mansion. She will then meet with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis.
The tone of her diplomatic mission is expected to be outlined later in the week at the Transatlantic Energy Cooperation Forum taking place in Athens. The event will be attended by US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, US Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, and 24 European energy ministers.
